Day for Night was commissioned by Boston Properties for the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco. The work consists of about 11,000 LED fixtures that are mounted to the outside of the top 9 floors of the 70-story building. The LED fixtures are mounted such that they face towards the building so that their light is reflected off of the building. This reflected light creates a much softer image for the skyline. Many different kinds of images are presented on the building, mostly from nature within the city. A typical night might show ocean waves from the northern California area.
