Shock Treatment

The installation consists of a glass table with a monitor facing upward through the glass from below. Next to the monitor is a metal box with a button labeled Erase, and next to the table is a chair. As a viewer sits down in the chair, a still image of his face is captured and appears on the monitor. When the viewer presses the Erase button, the image begins to randomly erase. The more the button is pressed, the more the face is erased.
